god i’ve turned
into you
blank stare
and quiet chest
meaningless words
*i can’t do this
right now
another time
later*
right and left places
feet not quite hitting the floor
god i’ve
turned into
the man i hated
the twisting of meanings
thoughts jumbled
in the flurry of lies
can’t follow through
eyes elsewhere, looking
at better and greener
faces in boxes not quite real
reaching out with avarice
god, i’ve been twisted
bright eyed eager hearted
fledgling ready for the first
drop into his vat of mystery
tar sticking to my eyes
sinking into habits and teachings
patterns repeating into
a quilt of fallacies
and as i’m lulled into the easiness
of never holding on
i’ve turned into you
